, professor of electrical and computer engineering (ECE), and of computer science at Rice University, has been elected a 2019 Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The IEEE cited Zhong for “contributions to the development of energy-efficient driver circuits for organic light-emitting diodes.” The honor is conferred by the IEEE’s Board of Directors upon a researcher with “an extraordinary record of accomplishments.”
“Lin is truly an outstanding researcher and system builder. From his groundbreaking work in energy-efficient OLED systems to massive MIMO, no challenge is too ambitious for Lin to tackle. His recognition as an IEEE Fellow is well deserved,” said Edward Knightly, the Sheafor-Lindsay Professor and department chair of ECE.
